Yes I'm presuming that covid feels the same whether you catch it in Llanelli or Ankara. Mark caught it first and then I caught it; I guess from him. The rules here are that with covid you must isolate for seven days. I'm now about half way through my quarantine period. Mark is just about better. It hasn't been too bad; I have felt really tired and have a bit of a cough now.
Like all ground-floor flat dwellers in Ankara, we have to live behind bars to prevent the attention of thieves and net curtains to prevent the attention of nosey neighbours. Ankara is very built-up....there is little spare ground. From my bedroom window I can see four other blocks of flats. I find that the bars don't bother me half as much as the net curtains. Personally I wouldn't mind neighbours looking in, but I don't like not being able to look out. Despite having to get used to keeping the net curtains closed most of the time, I find that I love living here. After two rather difficult years in Wales, I have found myself surprised by my energy levels and renewed excitement about life. I'm looking forward to when I can go out again and go back to language school and meeting people and coffee shops of course.....just four more days.
